VAT Returns
If your business is registered for VAT you are legally required to file a
return to HM Revenue & Customs at the end of each VAT accounting period.
Your business may be on the Cash Accounting Scheme which allows you to pay
and reclaim VAT on the money you receive from your debtors and the amounts
you pay to your suppliers; or you may have to pay the VAT on all sales invoices
raised and supplier invoices received during the period.
There are also other schemes for paying VAT and for more information on which
type of scheme best suits your business, speak to HM Revenue & Customs
direct or your accountant.
Again, in most cases, we can take away the worry from you by preparing accurate
VAT returns and enabling you ample time in which to send them to HM Revenue
& Customs. If your returns are not filed on time you could receive penalties.
We will collate all the information for each accounting period including
sales invoices, sales receipts, purchase invoices, purchase receipts, bank
payments and receipts as well as any reclaimable cash expenses and work out
what needs to be paid to or reclaimed from HM Revenue & Customs.
